Ingredients of Christmas Shortbread

  1. It's 250 g of butter , at room temperature.
  2. Prepare 3/4 cup of icing sugar mixture.

  5. Prepare 1 teaspoon of cinnamon ground.
  6. Prepare 1/4 cup of sugar raw.

Christmas Shortbread instructions

  1. Use an electric beater to beat together the butter, icing sugar and vanilla in a bowl until pale and creamy..
  2. Stir in the flour and cinnamon until the dough comes together. Turn onto a lightly floured surface and knead until smooth. Shape into a disc and cover with plastic wrap. Place in the fridge for 15 minutes to rest..
  3. Roll out the dough between 2 sheets of non-stick baking paper until 5mm thick. Use a 5cm-diameter star-shaped pastry cutter to cut 65 stars from the dough. Place on lined trays. Place trays in the freezer for 15 minutes to chill..
  4. Bake for 12-15 minutes at 160 degrees until it is golden. Set aside on the trays for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool.
  5. To make your frosting / Icing: Mix your confectioners sugar with a few drops of water and stir..
  6. In seperate bowls, add the food dye to reach desired color of green and yellow..
  7. Frost each cookie for the trees..
  8. Stack the cookies on top of each other binding each layer with a drop of frosting..
  9. Once dry, place your pearl decorations on the points of the stars..
  10. Finish the tree by placing the star on top!!! Enjoy this cookie :).
